Tips for Designing Artwork Your Own Cigar Bands

If you send us your own artwork for our cigar bands, please keep in mind that a design that wraps around the entire band is not ideal. We must allow for an overlap once wrapped around the cigar and it's easy for your design to be covered up! Try to keep the main design or text centered to fit an approx. area of 3/4" tall by 1" wide.

Here are a few things to consider when designing your own cigar bands:

Our bands are always 1" tall. The band length is determined by the circumference (ring gauge size) of the cigar it will be used with. So, if you are designing your own bands, you will need to know either the ring gauge size or the circumference of your cigars to figure the proper length.

Poor Design -The design & text in the above example will wrap around the entire cigar and could be partially covered by the overlap of the band.

Good Design -The design & text in this example is centered so that it will show on the front of the cigar.

Poor Design -When using a dark background color, use a white or very light text color. Darker colors will look fuzzy- the text will not look clear & crisp.

Good Design -The same design as above but with white text- much better!

Poor Design -The script font selection in this example is not a good choice- although it is a nice font, on a small area, it just gets lost!

Good Design -This font is simple and will print clearly and sharply.

Remember to tell us the ring gauge size or circumference of your cigars.
